The new website, as reported earlier is due for release soon, will have more space for advertising. Something Carl Falkenberg is pleased with. As the free movies are funded by ads this is a step in the right direction. The main focus of Voddler is movies – and NEVER will we allow commercial breaks while playing a movie. Ads and commercials are seen on the website and before the movie. During the commercials you are not able to fast forward or minimize the window.

We will, in addition to our current Voddler Client, launch a desktop client based on Adobe Air.
Voddler is mainly about enjoying movies the way you like it. Some of our members have had technical difficulties with the current client, and we wouldn´t want to let you guys miss out on all the fun on Voddler, so this will be a great complement.
In addition, the new Adobe Air Client will have more user-friendly features such as mouse support and more flexible menus.
The new Adobe Air Client will be available for testing in March.
The reason behind multiple clients is simple – we want as many of our members to be able to enjoy Voddler without any technical limitations and according to your preferences. More information will follow.
Great news for all of our Norweigan friends. Voddler is about to launch a beta version in Norway later this spring. You can sign up for a Voddler Norway account on Voddler´s website. Invites will be handed out in queue order.
This is according to the Voddler expansion plan and we are so excited! We are looking forward to meet the Norweigan market and are thrilled about the already huge interest in Norway.

Usability and interaction design are main areas of development right now. It´s extremely interesting to twist and turn on pretty much every part of our navigation to find the ultimate design. You will not be able to recognize Voddler when we are done!
Mainly 3 areas are up for the first make over:
>> The Search tool. Where the first version is a title search but a future search process contains relating factors, such as actors and directors.
>> The Payment Process. By starting movies from the website we will be able to incorporate a much easier payment process. As an alternative to payment using credit card and Bredbandsbolaget invoice you will be able to charge your Voddler account for future movie rentals.
>> Browse and Sort. Right now we are interested in how YOU browse for movies. The search tool is to some extent part of how to browse for movies but we are also interested in how to present movies in lists ordered by genre, viewings and rating etc.

Voddler is expanding. And with more people our office started to feel crowded. So we picked up our things and moved to new and bigger premises.
Our new premises are located in Värtahamnen, Stockholm. With sea view and ocean breeze included we are sure to like it here. Above is a selection of views around the office.
Accessibility. That is the main reason behind the new Voddler Web Player. Voddler is all about easy access and for you to be able to watch movies according to your preferences. Top 3 requested features in Voddler are mouse control, search tool and a more intuitive navigation. We´ve taken all that in consideration and included in the website with high quality movies, all with instant access.
The Voddler Client is not buried and forgotten, on the contrary. The client will still be further developed. With the Voddler Client AND Voddler Web Player to choose from we are certain all of our members will find an alternative suitable for their liking.
As the progress of the new Voddler website continues we are eager to hear your opinion and preferences. We will organize a discussion board on our forum regarding the matter. The beta version of Voddler was released in 2009 and further development continues. A beta version includes some bugs and frequent updates. But hey, that’s the point of a beta version. It´s a golden opportunity to test the service and collect feedback from beta-users and from that improve the end-result.
We are lucky to have thousands of people standing in line to be a Voddler beta-tester and provide us with feedback on your preferences and technical stability. With that support we are sure to be able to provide you with a great service when it is time for the official release.
Which leads us in the direction of our next point of business – a new website.
